Reclaimed Water Distribution and Reuse Study
Global Water Resources and its subsidiary utility companies own and operate wastewater treatment facilities in Arizona.  These facilities are designed to treat and reclaim wastewater to the highest quality regulated by local environmental agencies so that it can be beneficially reused as a substitute for potable water in applications where potable-quality water is not required.  MES completed a Reclaimed Water Distribution and Reuse Study that summarized existing uses of reclaimed water, municipal regulations for reclaimed water, distribution system implementation methods and regulations, and current reclaimed water costs.  This project included the analysis of progressive urban reclaimed water systems in Arizona, California, Colorado, and Florida and the evaluation of the market forces that are driving reclaimed water use.  MES concluded the Reclaimed Water Distribution Reuse and Study by providing recommendations for future reclaimed water applications and municipal policy changes that will be required to allow for more widespread usage.
